Translational research in phase contrast CT, MDCT/CBCT and micro-CT imaging for the assessment of atherosclerotic plaque vulnerability and early diagnosis of cancer

By leveraging my experience in the industry (GE Healthcare) and my expertise in cone beam CT (CBDT), multi-detector CT (MDCT) and the latest phase contrast CT, I am conducting research to advance the contrast, spatial, spectral and temporal resolution of CT imaging through (i) novel imaging systems, (ii) analytic image reconstruction algorithm, (iii) iterative image reconstruction algorithm, and (iv) enhancement with nano-particulated probes, aimed at overcoming the challenges imposed by clinical applications, such as early diagnosis of cancer and assessment of atherosclerotic plaque vulnerability. In addition, as a medical physicist certified by the American Board of Radiology in diagnostic medical physics, the reduction of radiation dose associated with CT imaging is also within my research scope.
