Areas of Research
My lab’s main area of research is developing clinical and basic science applications of cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Specific areas of current research are: 1) development of MRI for assessing myocardial tissue motion, 2) development of methodology for selecting patients who would benefit from pacemaker implantation, 3) use of MRI and computational fluid mechanics (CFD) to examine the role of hemodynamics on the localization, development and progression of cardiovascular disease, and 4) imaging of atherosclerotic plaque to determine plaque composition and plaque vulnerability to rupture.
